I wonder at what point during the year people will begin to eye their mileage balances and start worrying about the math. It's hard to get motivated about a milage run in May when the 31-Dec end of the year is waaaaaaay far away. Shouldn't be too much longer, though, before I start to worry a bit about maintaining status.

Well, perhaps this year. If you remember past years, there have been some pretty incredible bonuses that are a real inspiration to head out into the friendly skies on the weekend.

With Elite miles, and American Express promotions last year, I was able to get about 4x flown miles in bonuses, so I ultimately received 500%

mileage.
