Airport news censorship angers many travelers
Quote:
security guard walked in and switched the television from news accounts of the crash to a closed circuit feed of "American Bandstand" reruns
Does anyone else disagree with this decision? I think that passengers in the terminal should be allowed news of the outside world, no matter what it is. Plus, who wants to watch reruns of “American Bandstand.”

I see no reason why crashes shouldn't be covered on airport televisions. You hear about car accidents on the radio while you're driving.

My edition of CNN Inflight on a transcon that day was replaced by some E! crap, which I suspected was because there much news coverage that didn't reference the crash.
