Has anyone here stayed at the Del Mar in San Diego? It sounds nice, but wanted to see if any of you ever stayed there.

The only place I've ever stayed /in/ Del Mar is not a place I'd recommend.  I can say that the Courtyard in San Diego proper is a phenominal place and is much nicer than most true Mariott properties I've stayed at. |

| The Difference?
What's the difference between Marriots and Courtyard's by Marriot. I always thought that Courtyard is a cheaper version of the Marriot. Am I right?

Yeah, that's the idea, but the problem is that hotel quality ranges so wildly that it's hard to predict.

Spent one night at the Marriott Del Mar. Good location, decent price, and an average/good stay. Nothing Special, nothing bad either.
