Air Canada Posts Loss on Plunge in Travel

MONTREAL (Reuters) - Air Canada (AC.TO) reported a deep third-quarter loss on Friday, saying the plunge in air travel after the Sept. 11 aerial suicide attacks against the United States had slashed revenues and profit margins.
In preliminary third-quarter results, Air Canada, the country's dominant airline and world No. 10, said it had an operating loss of C$57 million ($36 million) in the latest third quarter and a pretax loss of C$160 million.
