PHOENIX -(Dow Jones)- America West Holdings Corp.'s (AWA) America West Airlines said April traffic fell 3.9% to 1.64 billion revenue passenger miles from 1.7 billion a year earlier.

The other explanation is that they laid off 3.9% of their flight crew and neglected to tell the flights en route. Ever wonder what really happened when you're waiting for 3 hours in PHX for a "flight crew", and other later flights to your destination have already left?
