Delta Discounts BusinessElite Travel to Europe Through the Holidays; Pay Coach Fares, Travel In 'Elite' Company

ATLANTA, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE: DAL - news) today announced heavily discounted fares -- up to 85 percent off -- for travel from the United States to Europe in Delta's BusinessElite(TM) class.

Customers must travel between Dec. 15, 2001, and Jan. 10, 2002, and tickets must be purchased by Dec. 23, 2001. Travel is not permitted in either direction on Dec. 21 and Dec. 22, 2001, or Jan. 5, 2002. Fares require a minimum three-day advance purchase.

Additionally, Delta is reducing the amount of miles needed to upgrade from economy class to BusinessElite class for round-trip European travel. During this promotion, SkyMiles members can purchase an economy class ticket (Y, B and M) and redeem 20,000 Delta frequent flyer miles to upgrade to BusinessElite class. Normally, 40,000 miles are required.
