For what it's worth, I noticed two newly-modified domains. All available information:

For those who aren't familiar with the typical output of netsol's "whois" database, this output is incomplete from what we'd normally expect to see from a domain search.
This incompleteness is consistent with the appearance of a newly-created domain, so it's a fairly safe bet that these are new domains that were just created on the 27th. Users who wish to monitor these domains directly can reference the netsol whois database cgi for deltaamerican.com and americandelta.com. How this relates to the recent hints of a major Delta announcement today is ripe for speculation. |

trying to move the discussion here instead of in the irc channel, thanks for pasting the url...
I remember reading something in the WSJ last summer about Delta and American talking merger, right around the same time that the American/Northwest talks broke off. I can't recall much about it, though. google turned up this article which is short on details. I don't subscribe to the online WSJ anymore so I can't try to turn up the article I remember. Anyone have an account? Of course, this could all turn out to be Delta Faucets announcing a new line of bathtub fixtures, but I'm curious. |

It's worth noting that these domains are both registered with register.com (hence the dns*.register.com name server addresses).
Both Delta and American registered their domains with NetSol, and both utilize either third-party or self run nameservers. My money is on this being a domain squatter. |

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the Internet community at large was as dissatisfied with the service at Netsol as much as I am. Additionally, a domain squatter would likely register the more likely combinations like deltacontinental.com. Daniel |
