WorldPerks New Administrative Fee Begins March 1, 2003
Beginning March 1, 2003, Northwest will standardize its WorldPerks administrative fee structure for award tickets. Once award tickets are confirmed, any changes, including changes to dates and times, will require a $50 fee per person when Northwest agents are required to revise the award ticket. Fees may be avoided or reduced if changes are made on nwa.com or at an airport self-service device.
Also, to maximize the availability of award seating for all WorldPerks members, Northwest will require instant ticketing of award bookings. Miles may be put back into your account free of charge if you cancel your reservation by the end of the next day (midnight Central Standard Time). What is new? Any changes to a WorldPerks Award Ticket, including changes to dates and times, origin or destination, class of service changes, require a $50 administrative fee when the change is made by a Northwest agent. Fees apply per transaction per person. Instant ticketing of Award Tickets is now required. Members have until midnight the next day to cancel the award reservation and have the miles added back to the account. The administrative fee is not cumulative. This means that multiple changes to one ticket within one transaction will only require a total of one $50 administrative fee. Changes made to an award ticket on nwa.com or through a self-service device at an airport are free or at a reduced fee: Changes made on nwa.com 30 days or more prior to travel are free. Changes made on nwa.com less than 30 days prior to travel are $25. Changes made through a Self Service Device at the airport at check-in are $25. Platinum Elite members are exempt from the WorldPerks administrative fee (but are still responsible for taxes, government-imposed fees and paper ticket fees). |
