newbie question about WN scheduler

A certain route shows a stop at BWI/1 or a stop at BWI/2.
What is the difference between the two?

BWI/1 means that you stop once, in BWI and change planes.

BWI/2 means that you stop once in BWI and change planes, and then stop again but stay on the aircraft.
