A World Heritage Site, the old imperial capital of Hue is Vietnam's most popular attraction. Explore the Imperial Citadel, modeled on Beijing's Forbidden City. Visit tomb of the Emperor Tu Duc, which features a palace in miniature.
WHAT YOU VISIT

Imperial Citadel - Built between 1804 to 1835 by Gia Long, the first Nguyen Emperor, the Citadel is modeled after Beijing's Forbidden City. Your tour enters the Citadel by the magnificent Noon Gate. See the serene Lotus Pond, the Royal Library and the complex's central pavilion, the Palace of Supreme Harmony, with its dynastic urns and memorial thrones dedicated to the various Nguyen Emperors.

Tu Duc Royal Tomb - Located in the hills outside of Hue, the tomb of Emperor Tu Doc features a royal palace in miniature, a pavilion overlooking a lake, gardens and the former royal hunting grounds.

Phu Loc Fishing Village - The village offers colorful views of traditional fishing boats and fishermen mending their nets.

Thien Mu Pagoda - Built in the early 17th century, the "Lady of Heavenly Peace" pagoda is Vietnam's most revered and visited Buddhist shrine.
LUNCH AND ENTERTAINMENT

Following your tour of the Imperial Citadel, a buffet lunch is served featuring dishes from Vietnam's formal "imperial cuisine," as well as regional specialties. During lunch, there will be a folkloric performance of regional music and Vietnamese romantic ballads.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY

Board your air-conditioned motorcoach and drive to Hue, the Imperial City. Passing small thatched villages, communal temples, and rice paddies still worked by water buffaloes. (http://www.princess.com ).
