Ha Long specialty: Geoducks
Ha Long is not only famous for normal seafoods such as shrimp, lobster, fish, squid, snails,etc same as the other coastal areas but also unique Ha Long sea specialties. Tu hi or geoduck is a worth mentioning dish in Ha Long specialty list because of its savory flavor and crunchy texture.
Geoduck, a kind of Ha Long specialties, in fact it has long been considered a famous one of Van Don District near Ha Long bay. It looks like an ordinary kind of shellfish. If you are familiar with Asian foods, it is likely youve already heard about geoduck. It appears in several dishes of Asian countries with famous gastronomy like China, Korea, Japan. In China, you can enjoy geoduck in hot pot dish while in Korea, it is eaten raw or stewed. In Japan, you can find geoduck in sashimi set. In Vietnam, geoduck is so valuable and when you first try it, you will never forget its taste. In order to enjoy this Ha Long specialty, Vietnamese people has many ways to cook it but there are three most common ways of making geoduck be a delicious dish which you can enjoy in most of Ha Long luxury cruises.
