Is there any reason to be concerned about putting a laptop in with checked luggage? We are traveling to France and have many stops and I do not want to be burdened with a lot of carry on. This is my first post so if I get it wrong someone let me know |

I would never suggest putting anything fragile or valuable in your checked luggage. In this case, the article is both fragile and valuable. I would suggest carrying it on. I've carried a heavy laptop in my briefcase for years and gotten used to it. It shouldn't be that bad. |

Well, unless your laptop is as large as dbaker's. In that case you run the risk of exceeding your passenger baggage weight limit and may incur additional fees from the airline.

15" 1600x1200 display, 5.5 hours of run time. Can't argue with that. |
