I have been to Kuala Lumpur and Penang in Malaysia.

I liked Kuala Lumpur better than Singapore, primarily because it was a little cheaper and less restrictive. Beer was cheaper too!

I liked Penang better than KL because it was smaller and I thought the people were a little more friendly. Penang is a little cheaper than KL.

I flew from Thailand to KL round trip back to Bangkok. For Penang I took the van/bus ride to Hatyai (Th) and from there van to Penang/Butterworth.

Malaysia is okay. In order of Preference I like Thailand and the Philippines a little more though.
