Road Trip To Himachal Pradesh

im finally getting a week to 10 days to travel in Himachal Pradesh, and a road trip at that (if i can book a cheap self drive car)

need help on deciding an itinerary. im looking at staying at smaller places (like kasauni, chail or something like that but yes i need the views ) and not the bigger well known cities like shimla,manali. i would love to pass thro them but not stay amongst such crowds.

Plssssss help with any inputs.
