Support a "Known Traveler" program at continental.

Continental Airlines is supporting a letter campaign to members of congress in an attempt to encourage them to implement a "known traveler" program.

It's an actual, legitimate step towards progress in this area and the process of sending a letter takes practically no time at all. More information about the proposed program is included on the linked site above.

I've already sent the letter to my three TX reps.

Mr. Daniel A. Baker
14027 Memorial Drive, Suite 3400
Houston, TX 77079

Dear Mr. Baker:

Thank you for contacting me regarding airline security. As the ranking member on the Senate Aviation subcommittee, the issue of aviation security is of particular interest to me, and I appreciate hearing your views and insights on this very important manner.

The simultaneous hijacking of four airliners and the enormous loss of
life that resulted from the terrorists' suicide bomber attacks has galvanized Congress' resolve to ensure airport security in the United
States. Congress recently passed the Aviation and Transportation Security Act that provides sky marshals on commercial flights, secure cockpit doors, and dramatically improved and increased baggage screening through the deployment of a federally-trained and compensated force, and state and local police, to replace current private screeners.

I was proud to serve as a member of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act Conference Committee charged with addressing the safety concerns of travelers and the travel industry. The conference committee worked diligently to craft legislation that both houses of Congress approved. I assure you that Congress is working hard to restore America's
confidence in traveling.

You may be certain that I will continue to work to ensure that the
federal government is meeting its obligation to control the safety of
America's sky.

Sincerely,

Kay Bailey Hutchison
