| Travel insurance
Travel insurance is a very good idea. It will help you with: * medical expenses * if you lose things or get robbed. Some worst-case scenarios involve people getting stuck somewhere in a hospital and having to pay huge medical bills because they have not had travel insurance - even to the point of family members having to sell assets to help pay for it. It's always better to be safe than sorry. * Remember that the medical insurance that you have at home (eg. Medicare and private insurance companies) will not cover you while you are outside Australia. |

You should definitely have some type of Visitor Insurance if you are going on a vacation. If you get injured abroad with no type of insurance, they may refuse to treat.
