Environmentalist group advocating for fair trade online store

My mom has just arrived from the US and she told me she met and became member of an environmentalist group advocating for the fair trade online store. It seems my mom still lacks more knowledge about the organization. Does anybody from this forum willing to explain further to my mom the objectives of this organization? I would really appreciate any help extended to us.
