UAL/ALLANCE Around the World?

Does/has anyone been able to use UAL MP points for an 'around the world' award ticket? I'm very interested in accomplishing this feat but I've found UAL not at all helpful - I'm even a 'million miler' and 100K flyer!
Any hints and experiences are sought.

In theory this should be possible but that is only proof that theory and practice are two very different things.
To do this, the other airlines have to release seats to UA in the correct booking class to use frequent flyer miles - in practice, finding a sequence of flights where all the airlines have released seats for mileage use is so rare that, should you achieve any success for an around the world ticket, I would advise you to put lottery tickets on....
