CHICAGO, April 12 (Reuters) - U.S. Airways (U.N.) said on Friday it reached a tentative agreement with pilots that would allow the carrier to use 70 additional cost-efficient regional jets, which the airline has said is key to its recovery.
The current agreement with pilots restricts Arlington, Virginia-based US Airways, the No. 6 U.S. carrier, to a total of 70 regional jets, putting it at a disadvantage to competitors Delta Air Lines (NYSE AL - news) and Continental Airlines (NYSE:CAL - news) that both have much larger regional jet fleets.
