I'd be drawn to the LV-60 if for no other reason that the four hour battery life (as discussed in the amazon.com user reviews is a lot better than I'd expect to be able to get from my Dell with a DVD drive hanging off the back.

The remote seems a bit silly to me, though. I can't imagine sitting far enough away from a 5" screen to warrant that.

Nugget I think the remote is for the thing when you hook it up to your hotel room's huge 25"

Oh, hey, yeah. I'm ashamed to admit that I never even thought of that. Having video out is a big win over most laptops which lack that capability. No sense in my picking one up for my BSL trip, though. I'm sure it's NTSC and not PAL.

Even my Inspiron 5000 has video/audio out, not that I travel with the appropriate cables.

I've had my eye on a portable DVD player for a while. I don't own a laptop and was thinking this would be a great solution for entertainment on the road, the train to work, or on the plane.

One thing I would really like to see is a portable DVD player that also plays mp3 cd's. I have quite a few that I take to work, and being able to use these in the player would be ideal.
