Do you already travel with a notebook computer? I watch DVDs on my computer when I'm in the air.

Of course i do
But my old beat-up Dell doesn't have a DVD player

I heard that we are getting newer Dell Latitudes with DVDs, but after talking with some collegues...i doubt that would be the case.

Have you looked at buying a DVD player for your latitude off eBay? I think that they're going for a good price.

After all, if you're already lugging around a Latitude, the last thing that you want is to be carrying another screen, battery, and mini computer.

I'd be drawn to the LV-60 if for no other reason that the four hour battery life (as discussed in the amazon.com user reviews is a lot better than I'd expect to be able to get from my Dell with a DVD drive hanging off the back.

The remote seems a bit silly to me, though. I can't imagine sitting far enough away from a 5" screen to warrant that.

Oh, hey, yeah. I'm ashamed to admit that I never even thought of that. Having video out is a big win over most laptops which lack that capability. No sense in my picking one up for my BSL trip, though. I'm sure it's NTSC and not PAL.

Even my Inspiron 5000 has video/audio out, not that I travel with the appropriate cables.

I've had my eye on a portable DVD player for a while. I don't own a laptop and was thinking this would be a great solution for entertainment on the road, the train to work, or on the plane.

One thing I would really like to see is a portable DVD player that also plays mp3 cd's. I have quite a few that I take to work, and being able to use these in the player would be ideal.
