In every region in Spain they have their own specialty of wines and some places are best known for the wines that they produce, take for example in Penedes, which is famous for the Spanish champagne, in the southern region, the Jerez de la Frontera, which is famous for its sherry wine and the Albarino, dry whites in the northwestern region of Galicia. Some of the places that are famous for having wine tours in Spain are in Barcelona, in La Rioja, in Southern Catalunya and in Galicia. There are restaurant in Barcelona Spain hotels also serve quality wine that will satisfied you thirst.

In the past, the quality of their red and white wines could never compete with the superior taste of those from France and Germany. Today, the qualities of both have been much improved and the Rioja and the Valdepeñas are accepted as being the fine quality wines.

Without question this area in the north of Spain enjoys the best reputation amongst the Spanish red wines which tend to be oaky in flavor. Its production varies from light young whites to heavy fruity reds and the best wines are produced in three districts, the Alta, Alavesa and Baja districts of which the first two are the most outstanding.

Catalunya Bus turistic offer a ideal half day trip to visit 2 of the main wine producers in the region, mainly Jean Leon and Torres, to book the trip. The half day tour will take you to two cellars of the Penedès area where you will find out the elaboration of wine and you will taste several wines and recieve a free bottle to take home.
