The CO agents act like no one else does this ;)
I booked a flight, v-fare, 2 hours each way, turning around as soon as I get there - just to make the Elite challenge! It wasn't cheap, but I suppose it's worth it, for the time being....
I can't be the only crazy one...

What happened? Did you ultimately explain what you were doing?
The average probably doesn't seen that sort of thing very often, if ever at all.

Nothing happened... yes I explained, as i always do.
I'm just seeking a "support group" of sorts, of people who do the same thing :)

You've found just that sort of group. My only mileage run last year was an AUS-IAH-SMF-IAH-AUS run (done in ~12 hours). Haven't done any gratuitious flying this year (yet).

Luckily, my traveling frequency has changed and Platinum 2003 will not be a problem.
64 segments down, 26 to go. (4 for this week)

I've got one more confirmed trip to Tokyo this year, and a possible to Zurich. That's not enough to get me platinum again, though, so I'll definitely be looking into doing a mileage run before the end of the year.
