Airline Uniforms Stolen, FBI Says

Airline Uniforms Stolen, FBI Says

Quote:
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Uniforms for airline ground crews were among items stolen from a truck earlier this month, the FBI said Wednesday.

FBI spokesman Jeff Lanza said there was no indication the thieves stole the uniforms to gain access to an airport. Airport authorities and the Federal Aviation Administration have been notified as a precaution, he said.
The scary part of this is that you actually could gain access to an airport just by stealing airline uniforms.

I gain access to airports by buying tickets...how do you get in? :)

Seriously, I don't see it as that suprising. This is similar to the "man in the white lab coat must be a scientist" phenom. People will always assume that the uniform makes the person legit.

Maybe someone was just interested in stealing a "First Class/Elite" sign.

FBI: No clues in stolen airport uniforms case

FBI: No clues in stolen airport uniforms case

Quote:
An FBI spokesman said Thursday that the agency has no suspects and no leads in the case of some stolen airport uniforms, but said there's no indication the theft is connected to any terrorist activity.

Wednesday, the FBI revealed that a truck containing airport worker uniforms was stolen May 4 from a Kansas City, Missouri, uniform company. The truck was recovered the next day but the uniforms were not.

The uniforms included ones for airline ramp workers and ground crews, according to the FBI's Kansas City office. The uniforms were for Delta, Midwest Express and Vanguard airlines.
