BREAKING: Authorities Rounding Up 20 Boston Airport Workers

Authorities Rounding Up 20 Boston Airport Workers

Quote:
BOSTON (Reuters) - Federal authorities Wednesday began rounding up as many as 20 workers at Logan International airport, where the two planes that crashed into the World Trade Center in New York on Sept. 11 took off, a spokeswoman said.

"We are seeking the arrest of 20 employees of various companies that work at Logan," Boston's main commercial airport, said Samantha Martin, a spokeswoman at the office of U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan.

Martin declined comment on why law enforcement was arresting the workers. She also declined comment on a local radio report that said the suspects would be charged with having false Social Security (news - web sites) numbers that gave them access to the airport.

She said the arrests started very early Wednesday and that so far some 15 people had been taken into custody. A news conference was scheduled for 2:30 p.m. EST.

I believe a similar incident occured in Salt Lake City prior to the games. A number of people arrested for undisclosed reasons but presumably due to SS or VISA problems.
