British Airways to be testing broadband

BA is installing Connexion - a broadband technology from Boeing - in its First, Club World and World Traveller Plus cabins, which will enable passengers to plug-in their laptops and do stuff online.

What I don't understand is that later in the article:

The trial is due to begin in February 2003.

2003? How long could it possibly take to outfit a couple planes with this technology?
