Cuban hijack attempt 'frustrated'

A man who said he was armed with two grenades has tried to hijack a Cuban airliner with 46 passengers and crew on board, Cuban officials say.

The man demanded to be flown to the United States - but the plane had to land in Havana because it did not have enough fuel.

He was a passenger at the back of the plane, according to officials.

The authorities say they are negotiating with the man, who is still on the plane along with all the passengers.
