TAMPA, Fla. (Reuters) - A FedEx Corp. cargo jet made an emergency landing on Saturday at Tampa International Airport, blowing out several tires but injuring no one, airport officials said.
The officials said the pilot of the McDonnell Douglas Corp. DC-10 reported he was having trouble getting his landing gear down as he prepared to land. After flying for 30 minutes to burn off fuel, the jet landed, blowing out several tires.
The crew members left the jet by using emergency evacuation slides. None was injured. The accident is under investigation.
