CO Announces Enhanced Service Between Palm Springs And IAH

Continental Airlines Announces Enhanced Service Between Palm Springs And Houston

Quote:
PALM SPRINGS, Calif., June 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL - News) today announced the launch of twice daily, nonstop service from Palm Springs, Calif., to Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport beginning December 12.

The service aboard the latest version of Embraer's fast, quiet 50-passenger ERJ-145 ExpressJet, will feature a comfortable leather interior with only window and aisle seating.
Fear the ERJ service between IAH and the west coast. Poor souls.

Unfortunately not. I'm a die-hard CO nut for domestic travel, but I can't honestly say that I would never fly this route on an ERJ.

Why not just enjoy the very comfortable 752 service IAH-LAX and connect on a Continental/American Eagle codeshare to PSP?

I'd even consider just flying to LAX and doing the ~100mi drive to Palm Springs.

I imagine there is a rationale for this, e.g. this is a low-traffic route. Not a lot of demand. When they start flying IAH-LAX on an ERJ++ I'll get worried.
