CO to close the C-2 P-Club!

I was connecting in EWR and noticed a sign on the door to the small P-Club near Gate 109. The sign states that that particular club will close for good on 02/28.
I guess that unlike the OnePass program , the Presidents club is not going to be immune to cutbacks.

This particular P-Club was a waste, but what worries me is that everytime that Gordon mentions no cutbacks "Now is not the time to eliminate the cheese from the pizza", something else gets eliminated.

I don't know if it's fair to get upset over this particular change. EWR is saturated with P-Clubs and I can't see it being much of an inconvienence to passengers to lose just this one location.

Isn't the new, quite large club just there at the base of the C101-115 wing?

Losing the P-Club is not what bothers me, it's Gordon's statements that do.

January, he made the infamous "No reduction" pledge. CO promptly elinated the off-peak rewards.

March, he states that unlike his competitors, Co is not cutting back on P-Clubs. CO promptly closes the C-2 P-Club.

I am pretty worried about what he will promise in April or May.

But didn't the closing of this P-Club coincide with the opening of the new one at EWR?

No.

There used to be 3, Gate 74, Gate 109 and the big one between the new terminal and the 100 gates.

I am sure that they closed this one due to it's proximity to the big one, but it not convienent to go to the big one if you come in at 109 and leave from 114.

I still can't say that I disagree with the closure, but I'm sitting here in the "big" p-club waiting for my flight to leave from C109 and I selfishly wish that the C-2 club was still open.
