| Logic - Locked Record?
Hi all--
__________________I've changed my class of service to K fare [Thanks, merchanb...!] EWR-HKG and plunked down the waitlist miles both trips. OK all veteran Elites out there, explanation why the CO Website locks your record? Since I've paid for a coach seat & haven't had upgrade[s] confirmed, why the lock? Shouldn't I be able to manage my own reservation online until some other action is taken? Outbound date is 10/22, and BTW they say **nothing** will happen 'till at least 9/18... Insights?? |

They just do. Consider yourself in SOP limbo.

They just do. Consider yourself in SOP limbo. ===> Aargh! Sometimes, when you're waitlisted, it will say that you can't access your itinerary because all the segments have been flown! ===> Don't we love technology? Patience. (It is often said that patience is only dispair disguised as a virtue.) Not to worry, though, they haven't lost track of you. ===> OK, I'll try (Just wait until you experience the procedure with one of those deadly paper tickets.) ===> Must be one for the record books! Seriously, I appreciate the moral support! |

On a recent eleven segment jaunt, paper tickets were issued because they could not eticket some KLM segments. When an upgrade certificate comes through, it's necessary to sign the certificate and have all the tickets reprinted since, apparently, each one has to have all the updated information on it. It seems their computers aren't set up to handle that many segments in one itinerary so they have to be reprinted one at a time. But wait . . . here's the best part. They will send the certificates to your home address for free but, if seats aren't available before you begin and you get upgraded while enroute (yes, I did), there's a $100. charge to send the certificate to a Continental ticket counter so they can be reprinted . . . again. Not a problem except they deducted miles twice for the same flights. And good luck on accessing your current paper ticket itinerary online . . . ever. View Reservation by Confirmation Number ! We could not process your request. Please see the message below and make revisions. ! Your itinerary cannot be retrieved, since all the segments have been flown. Only un-flown itineraries can be added to your Profile. If you require assistance, please contact Continental Reservations. (In all fairness, sometimes it merely says the ticket has not been purchased . . . only a programmer would understand) In the future, I hope to only fly places where I can have an eticket. | |
