| New 777 seats
is there a way to tell by the seat map whether you will be on one of the 777s with new BF seats?

I don't think so; I believe that with the new seats, the configuration remains the same. If you called, they might be able to look at the aircraft and let you know.

Yeah, I have a choice of a 3:15 EWR-IAH or a 4:55 EWR-IAH on the 777. I've taken the 4:55 in the past many times and it never had the new seats.

It's hit or miss with the new seats, although as CO proceeds with their retrofitting the hit ratio is only bound to get better. dbaker is correct, the configuration/layout is unchanged with the new seats, they just replace the old with the new. I'd bet if you got ahold of the right person (try your friendly, local p-club staff) you can find someone who is familiar with which planes have seen the upgrade and which haven't. I seriously doubt it's the sort of information you can find in any online form, though. So far, I'm 100% miss. I've only seen the new seats in person once, and that was I walked back to my coach seat on my last IAH->NRT flight. And my recent BF booking from LGW->EWR was old style. |
