ROME (AP) -- Delta Air Lines and its newest SkyTeam partner, Italy's Alitalia, began selling seats on each other's flights Thursday.

Under the agreement forged in July, the two airlines will jointly offer 72 flights a week between Italy and the United States, 49 of which will be operated by Alitalia and 23 by Delta.
