| CHANGES TO THE MEDALLION PROGRAM
Delta's recent changes have sparked quite a commotion between all the current medallion members. I recently found a site that I think would interest medallion members who are not familiar with the current changes. According to the website, Delta's changes will make their elite program uncompetitive with other airlines and to some degree, make it worse. Read more at the website.

Delta isn't the only one squeezing down.

Yeah, but that won't effect the elite program. Besides, elite members can still upgrade with miles on those fares.

I'm CO Platinum and to upgrade B or V costs me $300 each way plus the miles while Q or T cost me $400 each way plus the miles. When I questioned it I got a really obscure letter back saying it was to "obtain parity" with the more expensive fares. Turns out it can be less expensive to buy the higher priced fare in the first place. ![]() What seems to work best for me so far is to reserve the cheapest fare/itinerary I can find without regard to the fare basis and then call the Elite line and ask them to modify it to the least expensive fare than can be upgraded without the surcharge. | |

Thats strange. Are you sure thats the policy? Maybe it's different for people who live outside of the US 50. P.S. I like the new icon ![]() |

Yes, I was talking about flights within the continental US. Why don't you move here? ![]() |
