U.S., France Strengthen Airline Ties

PARIS (AP) -- France and the United States have reached initial agreement on an ``open skies'' deal that will allow for closer links between Delta Air Lines and Air France, officials said Friday.


After the deal has been formally signed, Delta and Air France will be able to coordinate fares, programs and payment systems under the aegis of the SkyTeam alliance, which includes four other carriers.
