I was there last night (02/25), but did not have my Digital Camera. It was pretty nice. To say that it is a VAST improvement over the old terminal is an understatement. It is LONG, but I would guess that the distance from one end to another is no longer than the longest distance at either EWR or IAH. There are 3 Worldclubs, One at each end and one at the middle. The one at the middle was pretty big and had a ton of phone jacks and electrical outlets for laptops. You enter this one at the ground floor and then use an escalator or elevator to get to the club on the second level. There are also quite a few dual loading jetbridges. That should make loading widebodies a lot quicker. As with any new terminal, all is not smooth. We were delayed about a half hour because a Fire Alarm went off and about half of the terminal evacuated, we had to wait for those pax to reenter through the security morons. I am going through again tomorrow (02/27) on the way home. If I see anything else that I missed, I'll do an update. |

| Update, Shiny new teminal, Same OLD employees. They are using the new terminal as an excuse for all of the old garbage that they have always done at DTW. Late Catering Waiting for Jetbridge operators Waiting for Rampers to walk the plane in Asinine setup for deicing They may have a new terminal, but thanks to the fact that they have the same employees with the same bad attitudes, I will avoid DTW. |

Quite a contrast compared to the new CO terminal at EWR which is just a dream to pass through. That place is amazing.

I didn't notice the same old attitude from NW employees on my most recent trip thru DTW (last weekend). Actually, I think it was quite the opposite! There are still things that don't work, or don't work as was expected. For example, the pedestrian traffic flow in and out of C concourse. But NW employees were making plenty of announcements, let passengers know what to expect. However, the food service and shop employees are the same old same old. Detroit attitude, and no people skills at all. Still, it's a darn sight better than the old terminal!
