| Northwest Airlines to Give Away 22 Tickets at February 16 De
Airline Will Conduct Hourly Drawings for Tickets to Domestic and International Destinations During Free 'Open House' to the Public
__________________DETROIT, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Northwest Airlines (Nasdaq: NWAC - news) today announced that it will give away a total of 22 tickets to 11 domestic and international destinations throughout its worldwide network at the upcoming ``Community Day'' celebration at the Edward H. McNamara Terminal/Northwest WorldGateway in Detroit. Community Day, free to the public, will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2002, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Northwest will conduct an hourly drawing beginning at 10:00 a.m. for a single pair of tickets to one of the following destinations: -- Beijing -- Hong Kong -- Honolulu -- Las Vegas -- London -- Miami -- New York LaGuardia -- Paris -- San Francisco -- Savannah, and -- Seattle. One pair of tickets will be awarded to each destination throughout the course of Community Day. In total, 11 lucky winners will win a pair of free tickets on Northwest to one of the exciting destinations listed. The carrier also announced that in addition to an hourly giveaway of tickets beginning at 10:00 a.m., and running until 4:45 p.m., Northwest will award a grand prize of an entire travel package from Detroit to Honolulu, Hawaii, including air transportation aboard Northwest and hotel accommodations. All registered attendees of the Community Day event will be eligible to enter the drawing for travel on Northwest. Community Day attendees will simply need to complete the ``Northwest ticket drawing'' entry form handed to them as they enter the terminal. One drawing entry per guest will be allowed, and entrants must be 18 years of age to qualify. All travel will be on flights operated by Northwest Airlines or its Northwest Airlink partner, Express Airlines I. Community Day is available to guests that pre-register and reserve one of 8 attendance time slots. McNamara Terminal/Northwest WorldGateway will be provided following the pre-registration process. Adult visitors touring the new facility are asked to bring government-issued photo identification.
