NW Memphis Hub

This is my first time flying with Northwest. I will be transferring in Memphis, and I'd like to know how anyone feels about the Memphis airport. I've heard it was nice from some people and downright awful from others. I'm flying from Tallahassee, Florida to Indianapolis in March, from TLH to MEM and MEM to TLH on Northwest Airlink. Thanks.

MEM is just dandy. It's compact and easy to navigate, you can get some genuinely good barbecue and they often have live music playing at the center "hub" of the airport. The ceilings are really low.

It's nicer than IND, that's for sure.

Yes, I've noticed those low ceilings too. The only downer to MEM is they only have 1 worldclub. (assuming that you are a club member)

Hey... it's a little old but it is still somewhat functional.

The new airport project will feature a modern terminal built in the "midfield" area of the present airport, between the two main runways. The $939 million project is scheduled for completion in July of 2007.

For more information, you can view the Midfield Project Definition Report - Executive Summary at:
