(CHICAGO), October 3, 2001—United Airlines’ (NYSE: UAL) Mileage Plus Program today announced that it is offering its members the opportunity to earn double Mileage Plus miles for travel on United and United Express from October 4 through November 15, 2001.

"As the nation continues to recover from the attacks of September 11th, we applaud and support the Administration’s leadership in encouraging America to resume traveling," said Larry De Shon, senior vice president of marketing for United. "As America continues to take to the skies, we are pleased to offer our customers these exciting accrual and redemption opportunities."

The offer applies to Mileage Plus members worldwide who purchase and fly any published fare in any booking class. Bonus miles apply to base flight miles only and do not apply toward Premier status. This offer may be combined with other offers. Registration is required to earn the bonus and can be done now through November 15th at http://offers.mileageplus.com/MPNN51 or by calling 1-800-447-6772 and enter offer code 168.

In addition, United today announced a Travel Award Sale for Mileage Plus members worldwide. Members can now redeem a free round-trip economy-class ticket for travel within the 48 states, Alaska and Canada for just 15,000 miles. Travel on these awards must be completed by the dates shown in the chart below.

United Mileage Plus members can easily redeem an award by visiting united.com or by calling 1-888-467-0507 for domestic travel and 1-888-674-4680 for international travel. When a reservation is made, the miles are automatically deducted from a member’s account and an E-Ticket is issued within seconds. There are no award codes to remember or forms to fill out, and there is no fee for requesting last-minute award travel. Additional information can also be found on http://www.united.com.
