There are lot of hill stations in India. I stay in Mumbai. In Mumbai also many hill stations existing to enjoy the weekends. Karjat is best picnic spot near Mumbai.

There are almost more than 100+ hill stations in India. Here are a few, which are visited by me and best as compared to other hill stations as per my experience.
This hill station is perched at a height of 2,205m above the sea level and is known for its fascinating hills and peaks, mesmerizing valleys.
Best time to visit: October to June
Attractions: Christ Church, Summer Hill, The Mall, Anand Vilas, Chadwick Falls and State Museum.
Nainital is also known as the 'Lake District' of India.
Best time to visit: March to June
Attractions: Nainital Lake, Eco Cave Gardens, Naini Peak and Snow View Point
Activities: Lake Visits, Rock Climbing and Trekking
Mahabelashwar is the perfect tourist destination in the state of Maharashtra. It is a most visited hill station of the state. Best time to visit: Throughout the year
Attractions: Pratapgarh Fort, Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar Temple, Venna Lake, Elephant’s Head Point, Sun Point, Lodwick Point
Matheran is the most popular hill station near Mumbai. It is just 80 km away from Mumbai. Best time to visit: June to January
