Hi, my name is Kate, i am just 14, live in Australia and i have a interesting question...
__________________My parents recently split and my mother now has a defacto relationship with someone from america and he flew over to australia and now all three of us want to go back to america but my father will not sign a passport and give me permition to travel there. I am wondering if anybody here knows how i can get around this situation? |

I would suggest that your mother contact the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade regarding this issue. In this case I believe that the devil is in the details. Unless there is a court order relieving your natural father of parental responsibility (i.e. divorce) then I believe (from reading what information is on the web) both parents must sign the Consent Form. Again, have your mother contact the Passport Department, and get information that may help in your specific situation. | |
