Abandoned town

My fiancee and I are planning our trip to Croatia for this coming June and July. A few weeks ago, I read in a travel guide in a book store about an abandoned town you can visit. It was stupid of me not to remember the name of it, but I was wondering if anyone has visited it or at least knows the name of it? The book said you come up to it from some trail and there's churches scattered around along with some other buildings. I can't remember if it was near one of the National Parks, or the coast maybe. Does this sound familiar to anyone? And if anyone's been there, what's it like and is it worth visiting?
