Hi,
__________________I'm from the Philippines and I am proud of where I came from. Philippines has many tourist attractions especially beach resorts. There are also several hot and cold springs. We have rich cultural heritage as well. Plus, expenses here are so cheap! |

I sort of grew up in the Philippines a little. When I was a really young sailor I was stationed there. Now as a retiree I try to make it back there every year to catch up with friends and recent changes. For English speakers it is no problem getting around the Philippines because English is widely understood. The Philippines is a little less tourist friendly (my opinion) compared to Thailand but well worth a visit. I have been to most of the Asian countries in that area. Japan and Korea are out of my price bracket now. I have found good discount hotels from Thai travel agencies for KL, Hong Kong and Singapore. Hotels off season from Monday through Thursday can be found at prices 2/3 or at least 1/2 off from other times of the year. Laos, Cambodia and some places in Vietnam are not too bad on a backpackers budget. Malaysia is not too bad once you get away from KL and Indonesia has it's good points. (I worked for a charity in Sumbawa Besar, Indonesia once a few years ago. Had a good time but not as good a time as Thailand. Happy traveling. | |

I would suggest Malaysia. I've been there and the place is lovely. I can't forget when we went to Petronas. It was so amazing. Next week we will try Hongkong. See you.

Hello
__________________Thanks for sharing this .Nice Thread.... Malaysia’s reputation as a benign country makes some people think that it’s going to be boring. It’s true, pushy touts are rare, natural disasters only seem to happen across the border and the multi-ethnic population gets along well. What to do without the hassles? Why not stroll around pennag where wafts of Chinese incense mingle with sour durian while Bolly wood tunes blast from an Indian shop. Thanks Have a nice time ahead |
