Best Hill stations

Like many other popular hill stations of India, Panchagani too is a very popular hill station. Panchagani is located in Maharashtra and it is one of the most beautiful hill stations. Formerly the British used to come here in an attempt to breathe fresh air and gulp water rich in iron. Panchgani is a startling hill resort of India, which still retains the signs of the British influence over the region.

Pertaining to travel and tourism, this hill station has always been a privileged haven. The etymology of term Panchgani suggests it is made out of two terms 'Panch' and 'Gani', which stand for 'five' and 'hills' respectively. A volcanic plateau, that is second highest in Asia after the Tibetan Plateau, top these five hills. In local term, it is known as 'Table Land' because of its flattened surface. The weather usually remains pleasant throughout the year; however one should avoid visiting the place during monsoons.

Hi

Nice question. Manali, an ancient town lies in the lap of the verdant Kullu valley in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Soaring peaks just at stone's throw distance surrounds this beautiful hill town. Its proximity to the snowline makes Manali the best choice for hill station travelers. Be it a summer break, a honeymoon break, a trekking trip or an adventurous jaunt, Manali is the ultimate hill station destination in North India region, offering amazing opportunities to its new and regular visitors. Manali is also a sacred place for the Hindus, who treat the temples over here as pilgrimage.

Thanks

India, a land so vast and diverse in culture, heritage, language and people is bestowed with an equally rich and vast treasure of natural beauty. The British must be given credit for developing most of India's hill stations. They did to escape the blistering heat of the long Indian summer. The Hill stations are popular providing a relaxing and salubrious retreat from the heat and dust of the plains. Not only they offer relief from the heat and dust of the plains, their beautiful green surroundings, solitude, salubrious weather and spectacular views makes them ideal holiday spots offering quick relief from the hustle and bustle of city life. India has seven principal mountain ranges and the most important amongst them are the Himalayas. Most are well connected by rail and road and offer some beautiful retreats to stay in.

Best Hill stations

Munnar hills is siatuated at an altitude of 5000 to 8000 Ft above sea level. and is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathani & Kundala. This beautiful hill station munnar was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Sprawling Tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, and holiday facilities make this a popular resort in munnar town.

Munnar also has the highest peak in South India - Anamudi, which towers over 2695 m. Anamudi is an ideal spot for trekking. The high ranges of Munnar were earlier known as Kannan Devan Hills, named after a certain Kannan Devan, who had been land lord in the Anchanad Valley on the eastern side of the district. The main cultivation crops in Munnar are Tea and Coffee
