I don't think Singapore is a much cold place, so I would advice you to go there during April and May...

Singapore was okay, I liked Hong Kong better though. Singapore is kind of sterile! People were friendly enough, the city is well maintained! They have very strong jaywalking, littering, spitting on sidewalks even peeing in elevator restrictions with fines! If you like shopping you will like Singapore. I did a couple side trips, one was to Malacca. My last time there was just about 2 months ago when I went through there to catch a plane out of the Singapore airport. Their MRT is excellent, train goes directly to the airport. (When the Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok was closed because of protesters I made my "escape from Thailand" by train through Thailand and from there to Malaysia. Train from Butterworth through Kuala Lumpur on to Singapore for my revised flight plan.) I had more fun and enjoyed my train ride across Thailand and Malaysia than my two previous short visits to Singapore. Info on weather: http://singapore.embassyhomepage.com/singapore_weather_forecast_cheap_flights_bedok_hot els_singapore_embassy_of_singapore_london_uk_singa pore_travel_insurance.htm http://www.healism.com/destinations/...r_in_singapore May and June looks like it might be okay. I can tell you the time of the year that I did not like and that was during the Chinese New Year and Ramadan. The first time I went there was around 10 years ago when both of those holidays were close together - nothing was open! I didn't really care for that visit, I put off going back for 5 or 6 years. Next trip was much better but (my opinion) you have to like shopping! Check out a visit to Laos or even Malaysia if you want to do something where there are fewer tourists and everything is not so sterile! Good luck. | |
