| Living in Sapa Vietnam Living in Sapa Vietnam, a clean environment will help people live longer and healthier. This is the message that Victoria Vietnam Group's Environmental Day wanted to spread at Green Day Sapa Vietnam last Saturday. ![]() Green Day Sapa, one of several events conducted by the Environmental Day that the group holds every year on September 22, started in the town three years ago to promote environmental protection activities. Their goal is to help improve the standard of living in each of the cities where it conducts business. Between 8am and 12pm last Saturday, the-staff of Victoria Sapa, as well as students from secondary schools in Ta Phin, Lao Chai, Ta Van and Takko cleaned up community areas and roads of and around Sapa's parks, stadium and market. Ronan Bianchi, general manager of Victoria Sapa, said "We chose young children to attend the event this year because we wanted to educate the future of this town. Children are much easier to teach and more likely to learn. Through their participation, hopefully these young people will learn how a clean environment can truly improve their lives. They can also learn how to protect their homes and city from rubbish and pollution." Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Sapa People's Committee, Nguyen Ngoc Huynh said the Green Day Sapa has helped the citizens, especially the younger generation, become more aware of the importance of nature and reducing negative human impact on the environment. Travel to Sapa, along with Green Day Sapa Vietnam, Victoria Vietnam Group's Environmental Day also held events in Chau Doc,Can Tho, Hoi An and Phan Thiet, among others. |
