| recheckin time at ATL?
Hey all,
__________________I'm flying TYS-ATL-LGW on July 17. I got the ATL-LGW (BA) ticket using someone else's Alaska miles, and the TYS-ATL (DL) ticket using mine. I've been informed that my bags can't be interlined and that I'll therefore have to claim them, go into the terminal, and checkin again with BA. My flight gets into ATL at 4:01 PM and my other flight leaves ATL at 6:20 PM (from the International terminal). Is that enough time to claim, check in, and get to the gate? Thanks in advance, Charlie |

It's closer than I would cut it, but you're probably going to be okay. Make sure to take the furthest subway car on the way towards the terminal, since you'll shave a minute or so off your wait time for the escalators if it's busy. You might call BA and have them put a note in your record that you're connecting on a DL flight on a seperate itinerary. You're flying ASA and not DL, right? Is there an earlier TYS-ATL flight that you can take? There's a British Airways online check-in, but you have to be an Executive Club member to do it. You could join, but I'm not sure if it will work if you're traveling on someone else's frequent flier miles. Have you considered driving? Or getting a ride to CHA and taking the shuttle to ATL? |

No, I'm flying DL. On the way back, I'm taking a (very late) DL flight and standing by for an earlier ASA flight (waitlisting, actually), but DL does have mainline TYS service. Yes, I considered driving, but it's a nuisance and I discovered I had the miles and considered it worth it to grab the tickets.[/quote]

On a "sort of" related subject, the Delta web site now has a section that lists Airport Wait Times: http://www.delta.com/cwswaittime/tra...time/index.jsp FYI |
