Too much time on my hands

(Cross-posted from my plan)

A random snippet of conversation that Ivo and I had while in Canberra got me wondering. He was talking about how he's managed to visit quite a large number of US States and felt that he was probably better-travelled than most Americans. I've always considered myself fairly well-travelled, but not incredibly so (with regards to the states, at least) and the conversation left me curious to actually site down and work up a map that showed where I'd been and where I still need to go.

So in my Saturday boredom, I did exactly that. I tracked down a nice vanilla US map and shaded it in reflective of the time I'd spent in each of the states I'd visited:

The various shades represent the amount of time I've spent in each state. Black for those states where I've lived and worked. Dark grey for states where I've spent a lot of time, or quasi-lived. On the other end of the spectrum is Arizona where I've changed planes countless times but have never actually managed to leave the Phoenix airport.

Whether or not this evolves into a "Nugget's quest to visit all the states" sort of goal remains to be seen, but it is nice to see it all layed out in (ahem) black and white.

Anyone else performed a similar exercise?

Posting on behalf of Russ, a United Devices cow-orker who has no ITYT account and no server upon which to host the image...

No North or South Dakota, or Alaska... can't say I have any real interest in any of these places, either.
