In March 2002 I started my first online community (AirstreamForums.com) to help fellow Airstream Trailer owners exchange information. We created the largest online community of Airstream Enthusiasts online. With over 5,400 members, together we have created over 11,000 pages of information about our beloved Airstreams. I firmly believe that to start a viable online community you have to be very passionate about the subject. I love to travel and would like to find some other travel fantatics to help me design this forum community. Things that I need help with: 1. Defining the right categories 2. Attracting fellow travel fanatics from other "list serve" style travel sites like Yahoo! Groups and 3. Spread the word... One of the coolest things I have ever seen is watching an online community that I help start flourish. It's amazing to see how everyone connects and how conflicts and differences of opinions resolve themselve. Like any society, there are issues but for the most part it's truely amazing to watch a community grow! I am working on winning the search engine placement game, attracting the travel industries most respected gurus and working with other members on finalizing the categories.
