Never. I don't like to travel alone. If you are go to travel alone or with no any group , friend or family then there is no fun , enjoyment and not feel happy.

Many people travel alone. It depends on what you want to do and where you go. Some tourists are happy signing on to tours in the country they visit. You may meet other tourists on tours, in bars and on trains and buses by chance. Some tourists visit countries with an active nightlife and they are happy to chat up ladies (or lady boys) working in bars. Some tourists need other people around because they don't have enough money to pay for better hotels. With a friend they can share a better hotel room.

But if you do your research you can find countries to visit where hotels and local transportation is not expensive, the climate is agreeable enough where winter clothing is not needed, and the food is adequate.

When you travel alone you don't get angry at another person who is a cheapskate or doesn't bathe. You don't have to argue over decisions on where to go next - you just make your own decisions.

Match the country you visit to your available funds. If you are not wealthy don't choose a country where you must pay a lot of money just for your plane tickets. Visit long enough to get your money's worth out of your plane ticket but not so long you must stay in crappy lodging and eat lousy food because that is all you can afford.

Always have some spending money for some fun on your trip. Choice is up to you if you want to check out nightlife - do it! If your idea of fun is cooking your self on a beach - do it! Or maybe if just sitting and loafing on your hotel cafe or bar is your thing - just do it!

Some people who come from countries where they have many restrictions against drinking and having fun do go kind of wild when set free in more liberal countries. You do have to act civilly and polite and not act like animals set free. Have fun but don't get in trouble with authorities.

Nothing wrong with traveling alone if that is what you must do.

Have fun.
